The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB), has developed IPSAS with the aim of improving the quality, consistency, accountability and transparency of public sector financial reporting worldwide. IPSAS  are cash-based standards and accruals standards used for the preparation of general-purpose financial statements by governments and other public sector entities around the world.

The course is designed to assist candidates to be able to understand the financial reporting requirements in the public sector using the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). On completion of the course candidates should have obtained a practical understanding of how IPSAS are used for financial reporting within a public sector context.
